A short routine works because it removes friction. Instead of waiting for the perfect time, the perfect energy, or the perfect plan, you simply move through a few helpful patterns and get on with your day.
A simple beginner structure
- One minute of breathing and gentle spinal movement
- Two minutes of hip circles and cat-cow
- Two minutes of low lunges or supported hamstring stretches
- Two minutes of shoulder rolls and chest opening
- Two minutes of balance or core activation
- One minute to slow down and notice how you feel
Why this works
It covers the areas that most often feel stiff: spine, hips, shoulders, and core. It is also short enough to repeat, which matters far more than designing a perfect routine you never actually do.
How to make it sustainable
Choose the same time of day for a week. Keep the mat visible. Aim for done rather than impressive. If a routine feels approachable, it has a much better chance of becoming part of your life.
If you would rather follow a ready-made sequence than build your own, Week 0 and Move Better give you that structure.
